Save Libertyland's co-founders stand IN TOTAL OPPOSITION to Shelby County Commissioner Steve Mulroy's plan to dismantle the Zippin Pippin in accordance with directives issued by the City of Memphis.

We at http://savethepippin.com hereby DISCLAIM any actions undertaken at the Mid-South Fairgrounds by Shelby County Commissioner Steve Mulroy and those in his employment.
The original co-founders of Save Libertyland, along with our core group as represented on the website
http://savethepippin.com, urge Memphians to oppose any dismantling of the Zippin Pippin. To dismantle this National Historic Register Property is a violation of Federal Law via the National Historic Preservation Act.
Sincerely,

PROTECT THE PIPPIN! DON'T DESTROY HISTORY
THE ZIPPIN PIPPIN ROLLER COASTER IS OWNED BY SAVE LIBERTYLAND, YET MEMPHIS LEADERS STARTED TAKING APART THE RIDE ON NOVEMBER 16TH. FORMER PRO-INTERIM MAYOR MYRON LOWER PROMISED NOTHING WOULD BE DONE TO THE PIPPIN OR THE CAROUSEL WITHOUT NOTIFYING SAVE LIBERTYLAND. NOT ONLY ARE OFFICIALS BREAKING THEIR PROMISE, THEY ARE DESTROYING HISTORY. BOTH AMUSEMENT PARK RIDES ARE LISTED ON THE NATIONAL HISTORIC REGISTRY.

Underground Memphis is also fighting to Save Libertyland!
Bill Bannister and Jonas Stoltz got inside the amusement park recently so fans could see just how dilapidated it has gotten since Memphis City Leaders closed it in 2005. It's an up close look at what Libertyland was, how it is now, and what it could be in the future!

Latest on the Grand Carousel
Save
Libertyland is not giving up on its fight to restore and reopen the Zipping Pippin and the
Grand Carousel, even though the historic carousel is now being dismantled.
After promising to preserve and protect the historic rides and buildings at Libertyland, Memphis City Leaders began taking the Grand Carousel apart on October 7th, piece by piece!
Advocates
need to contact the City Council to keep Memphis history intact.
Please email Maria.Fuhrmann@memphistn.gov
with the following message, and request that she forward it to all Council
members:
"If we're going to spend $100 million on Fairgrounds Redevelopment, we
should spend $4 to $6 million to restore the historic Zippin
Pippin rollercoaster and Grand Carousel to working order for the families
and children of Memphis. These are historic Memphis treasures, part of our
history, and we shouldn't throw them away. Please support funding to save the Pippin
and Carousel."
We cannot do this without you, Memphians!
